GL S10 Setup
GL S10 is an IoT Gateway offered by GL iNet. The device is created to facilitate communication between beacons and servers. It comes with a built-in ESP32 device & bluetooth module. Also the device offers 150 Mbps WiFi speed and has a SRAM 520KB + PSRAM 8MB / NOR Flash 4MB Storage capacity. GL S10 Setup is very easy with the GL-S10 tool app. If you have a GL S10 device and desire to configure it then a depth information is significant on its installation and configuration. GL S10 Guide
Installation of the GL S10 device hardware properly is significant to complete the GL S10 Setup. Installation of device involve following:
Unpacking
Carefully unpack GL S10 device. The box may contain a few necessary items such as:
- GL S10 Gateway
- BLE Beacon (optional accessory)
- External Antenna
- USB Power Cord
- User Manual
Assembling
After unpacking the device, you need to assemble the GL S10 device. Take the external antenna and attach it with the device. Rotate the antenna to tighten it securely. Also do not plug-in the power supply before placing the antenna.
Placing
Now, decide a proper placement to keep your GL S10 device. An adequate location for the placement of the device is necessary for its proper working.
GL S10 Setup Step By Step
Download GL-S10 Tool App
To download the GL S10 tool app you need to rush to the app store or google play store on your smartphone. Make sure you are using an iOS device with version 9.0 or later and android with 14.0 OS. Search for the app and hit on the install option to get the GL S10 tool app on your device.
Set GL-S10 Configuration Mode
Moving further with the GL S10 Setup, you have to set GL-S10 into its paring mode. To do so you have to use the reset button. Make sure your device is not connected with power. Now you have to press the reset button of the device. Thereafter turn the power on and release the button when you notice the BLE indicator flashes.
Select Language
Moving ahead in the process, come back to the GL S10 tool app. Here you need to select the language to operate the app and complete the GL S10 Setup. You can choose between English and Simplified Chinese.
Connect your GL-S10
Next step of the setup process is connecting the GL S10 device to the app. For this step you need to run a scan for available devices. Click on the scan option given in the top right corner. Here you’ll see the available S10 devices. If more than one device is available then choose the one you desire to configure. For knowing your device among the list you can check the BLE MAC address on the label at the bottom of your GL-S10.
Configure your S10
After selecting the GL S10 device, you will enter the “Manage Device” interface. Now you can initiate the GL S10 Setup. Configure all the settings including protocol, WiFi, MQTT, report, date & time and more. Select the settings you desire to configure. Make the necessary changes in it and then save it.
Reboot
Lastly, you need to reboot your device to use it. For rebooting you need to opt for the reboot option given on the screen. Choose the sure option from the new pop-up that appears on the screen to complete the process. Once the device rebooting is complete, you can use it.
GL S10 Troubleshooting
GL S10 Setup will offer you a reliable network. Occasionally you might experience issues with it. You can resolve the problems very quickly. Follow the troubleshooting guide we mentioned to resolve the errors including connectivity issues.
Check the Connectivity
First of all you need to check the device connectivity with the host internet provider device. Also check out the cable connected to the device. Any damaged cable can intercept the network.
Verify the Placement
Sometimes we place the device inadequately that might interrupt signal transmission which leads to the issue in the network. So, check the placement, if any heavy metal object or signal interface device is kept nearby, change its placement.
Reboot the S10
Rebooting the device can resolve several issues. So you can power up the device again after unplugging it from the power source for 5 minutes. When the device again boots up it might resolve the issue you encounter with.
