GL S20 Setup

LED Light Behaviour
The smart LED light indicators help in understanding the working of GL S20 Setup in a much better way.
Starting off with the different power LED light meanings:
- Flashing Green – System Starting
- Solid Yellow – GL S20 not initialized
- Fast Flashing Green Light – Firmware is upgrading.
- Flashing Yellow Light – GL S20 is resetting.
- Flashing Red Light – Firmware is upgrading
- A Solid Red Light – There is abnormality with the router.
Secondly, here are the meanings of different network LED colors:
- Solid Green – Connected to the Internet.
- Solid Red – No connection to the Internet.
Lastly, comes the IoT LED behavior:
- LED Off – Thread not utilized.
- Solid Green – Thread working normally.
- Flashing Green – Joining thread network.
- Flashing Red – Thread network disconnected.
Unboxing GL S20
To begin with the GL S20 setup, first unbox the package. As you unpack, first there is the GL S20 router. Next, a power adapter and an Ethernet cable. There is a mounting kit as well for proper installation. A converter based on the shipping address. GL S20 Setup via Web Browser

Firstly, power on the S20 router. For this fetch the power adapter. Connect it with the power port and after that slip in the adapter into a power outlet. Switch it on. Check the power LED, it should be flickering green.
Now you can connect to the GL S20 router either through ethernet cable or through wifi.
- For connecting wirelessly, toggle the wifi. A list appears. Select the network name and fill up goodlife in the password section and ultimately tap on Connect.
- For connecting through ethernet cable, slip one end of the cable into the LAN port of S20. Slip the other end into the ethernet port of your chosen device.
Finally, for completing the GL S20 setup, you need access to the web admin panel. For this, open any internet browser. Move to the URL bar, also clear browser caches and cookies if any. Now type http://192.168.8.1. Press Enter and welcome yourself to the admin panel.
After that select the language and press Next. Now create an admin password, confirm it and tap on Submit. To connect to the internet, select the internet option. For thread network select Thread Mesh. Finally complete the GL S20 setup, by following the on-screen directions.
Resetting GL S20 Setup
Want to reset your GL S20 thread border router, if yes then follow these simple steps:
- Firstly, make sure the device is on.
- Next, locate the reset button on the router, which is on the side panel.
- Press it down for not less than 8 seconds. You’ll see a flashing yellow light.
- Release it and the reset is complete.
Another alternative is using the web panel. Simply access the panel, select the option of more settings from the left panel. Now tap on Revert Firmware. The resetting starts. The whole process will take at least three minutes so meanwhile do not perform any activity on the GL S20 setup. As the reset completes, the device reverts back to its original settings and all the customization vanishes. Be mindful that during the reset, you should not turn off the router. In case you do so, you can cause irreparable damage to the router.
