GL SFT1200 also known as opal is a travel router that offers 1200 mbps wireless network through dual frequency. It is a portable device that you can use during trouble. Opal offers high speed internet, has a powerful CPU with three gigabit ports. You can connect maths 52 devices simultaneously with the Opal network. GL SFT1200 Setup is not at all a daunting task using the glinet app. Also you can easily set up the device through a web interface. To perform the setup you don’t need to be a text Savvy. Power Of The Opal

• Begin the GL SFT1200 Setup by turning on the power of the Opal.
• First of all connect the device to the power adapter.
• Connect the power adaptor to the power source and turn on the power.
• Once the device is charged you can turn on the power of the device from the power button given on the device.
• Wait till the LED on the device is turned on and completely stable.

Connect Client Device To Opal Network

The second step of the GL SFT1200 Setup process is opting for a client device and connecting it with an opal network.

• You can use either a computer or laptop device to operate a web interface or smartphone/ tablet device to operate a glinet app.
• You need to establish connection between the client device and opal using wired or wireless method.
  • Wire Method – wire method connection required and internet cable. Connect the cables through the Ethernet ports on both Opal and your client device. Connect the cable very securely to avoid any interaction in the process.
  • Wireless method – To proceed with wireless method you need to access settings. Go to the Wi-Fi settings and look for the opal default network name. Select the network and enter the password in the password field to connect with the network. The default password you need to use is goodlife.

Access Opal Web Interface/ App

Once your client devices are connected to the Opal network you need to move ahead with the process using web or app.

Web

• To move ahead through a web based process you need to launch Google Chrome or other web browser on the computer or laptop.
• Rush to the URL bar of the web browser and mention the default IP in it to get the access of Opal.

App

• To proceed with the GL SFT1200 Setup using the glinet app you need to download the application first.
• The mobile app is available on both Google Play Store for Android users and on App Store for iOS system users.
• Get the app installed on your device and then launch it to get the access.

Configure Opal

• Once you get access to the web or app, you can easily configure your Opal device.
• You need to proceed but the on screen prompts and selects the language first.
• Afterwards you need to create a strong password for your admin account.
• Admin account security is a must for your network security. So while creating a passport make sure it is a strong yet memorable one.

• Next you need to go to the settings and choose the internet option.
• As you choose the internet option you will see options on the screen to connect your device with the internet. There are four ways with which you can connect the device with internet as mentioned:
  • Ethernet
  • Tethering
  • USB
  • Cellular
• You can adopt the method you desire to as per your convenience and follow the on screen prompts to connect it.
• Also make sure to change the default SSID and password of your Opal network to keep at secure.
• Once the configuration is complete, you can click on the apply option to make the changes.

Test Opal Network

Testing the Opal network is the last step of the GL SFT1200 Setup. To initiate this step to check the network you need a wireless device. Connect the device by accessing its Wi-Fi settings to the new network. Use the new SSID and password to establish the connection. Thereafter, you need to browse the internet, watch videos, play online games and more to check the network speed. Also consider the coverage of the network.
